The London Home Builders' Association offers a Careers in Construction in class presentation suitable for grades 7-12.
This 35-45 minute presentation covers the wide variety of career opportunities offered within the residential construction industry and highlights the various educational paths to achieve these positions.
"The presentation was a suitable length, relevant and very informative, as well as being engaging to our students with the "audience participation" component. I had very favourable comments from several students when I was talking with them afterwards. Thanks so much for providing the great opportunity for our students. It was greatly appreciated."
- Don Thody, Montcalm Secondary School
"I just wanted to let you know that while marking my students' final reflection paper many of them talked about your presentation and how much they both enjoyed and learned from it!
It made me happy to know that they all got so much out of your presentation. Looking forward to when you return in a few weeks to talk to my new group of students!"
- Lydia Kamps, College Avenue Secondary School

Each year the Careers in Construction Committee selects four students from the Building Technology and Design programs at Fanshawe College and two from the Home Renovation Technology and other residential construction related programs at North American Trade Schools to act as Student Ambassadors. These students attend monthly membership meetings, receive industry news and updates, and participate in a variety of LHBA events aimed at providing an inside look into the industry while connecting students to professionals to help guide their transition into employment within the industry.
If you are in your final year of study at Fanshawe or NATS in an applicable program and wish to submit an application please take a look at the following documents and application form. Submissions are required by October 7, 2016. Questions can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
